The First Meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

The First Meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries (ITT-LLDCs) held on 21 May, 2018 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The Board elected Mr. Odbayar Erdenetsogt as the Executive Director of the ITT–LLDCs. The Board also elected Mongolia and Paraguay as the Chairperson and Vice-chairperson of the Board, respectively.

A new text of the General Principles and Rules of Procedure of the ITT was discussed during the meeting. Furthermore, the text of the Host Country Agreement was finalized which will be signed between the Secretariat and the Government of Mongolia during the ITT inaugural ceremony next month in Ulaanbaatar.

The current ITT Board of Governors is comprised of representatives from 12 countries that have so far acceded to the Multilateral Agreement for the Establishment of the ITT-LLDCs. 

Mr. Hassan Soroosh, Director General for Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs is representing Afghanistan in the ITT Board of Governors.
